Renewable Heat Incentive

The domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI) is for homes and businesses which are both on and also off the gas grid.

Homes and businesses which are off the gas grid usually cost more to heat and the carbon emissions are higher on these types of properties.

Air Source Heat Pumps

Solar Thermal Panels

Biomass Boilers and Stoves

Ground Source Heat Pumps

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SCHEME

You must have a MCS certificate for your installation and a domestic energy performance certificate (EPC) which is less than 24 months old, if the EPC recommends loft or cavity wall  insulation this must be installed and a new EPC issued.

Tariff payments are made quarterly in arrears and are adjusted in line with the consumer price index (CPI) and are made for a period of 7 years for domestic installations and a period of 20 years for commercial installations.
